I can’t exactly say I’m waiting with breathless anticipation for the release of David Fincher’s film version of Stieg Larsson’s megahit novel “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo”.  Every now and then a film comes along that is bolstered by such a massive amount of early support it makes me deeply skeptical.  Fincher is one of the most talented directors in the industry, so of course it’s going to be amazing, but I’m choosing not to jump on the bandwagon this time.  Having said that, I can’t help but be intrigued by the fact that Trent Reznor is once again teaming up with Fincher to compose the score for the film.  Reznor’s previous collaboration with Fincher on The Social Network was beyond impressive, so I couldn’t resist sharing with you this new 7-minute preview of the score for Dragon. Take a listen for yourself, and should you choose to join the millions of folks counting down the minutes until the film’s release on December 21st, by all means be my guest — I’m half tempted to do just that after listening to the clip myself.  To learn more about the score, as well as to see the freshly-released character bios of Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara (she also played Mark Zuckerberg’s girlfriend in the opening scene of The Social Network who served as part of the genesis of Facebook’s conception) be sure to visit The Playlist.
