Katharine Hepburn‘s former home on Connecticut’s Long Island Sound is up for sale. The screen legend, renowned as much her unapologetic opinions as her unrivaled acting prowess and her status as one of the most influential feminist icons of the twentieth century, retired to this home in Old Saybrook, Connecticut and lived there until her death in 2003 at age 96.  The most recent owners have updated the house by combining rooms to create larger and more open spaces, and the home boasts 15 rooms, 7 1/2 bathrooms, a two-car garage, a dock and beach, and 680 feet of waterfront on Long Island Sound with a total asking price of $28 million. If owning the entire property isn’t to your liking, the house (which is on the largest of three lots) can be purchased separately for $18 million. The property sold seven years ago for $6 million. Hepburn won four Academy Awards and received 12 nominations over her 60-year career.
