Red Bull’s Soundwave is a new project aimed at capturing the sounds of 50-foot wave surfing, one of the world’s most death-defying and adrenaline-fueled recreational sports. The crew rigged up megasurfers Ian Walsh, Carissa Moore, Carlos Burle and Maya Gabeira with waterproof microphones and managed to capture the first-ever audio recordings from the perspective of the big wave surfers themselves. The sound and footage was taken at the JAWS deep water reef break in Maui, Hawaii.
