Red Bull’s Soundwave is a new project aimed at capturing the sounds of 50-foot wave surfing, one of the world’s most death-defying and adrenaline-fueled recreational sports.  The crew rigged up megasurfers Ian WalshCarissa Moore, Carlos Burle and Maya Gabeira with waterproof microphones and managed to capture the first-ever audio recordings from the perspective of the big wave surfers themselves.  The sound and footage was taken at the JAWS deep water reef break in Maui, Hawaii.  To learn more about the Red Bull Soundwave project, as well as to keep an eye out for more upcoming Soundwave videos in the future, be sure to visit RedBull.com.
