There’s a lot of amazing resorts in this world, but as of this morning there’s only one that exists as far as I’m concerned: the Anantara Kihavah Villas in the Maldives which just opened in February.  Located on the island of Kihavah Huravalhi, the resort is a quick half-hour seaplane ride from the Male International Airport.  The resort has 74 one-bedroom villas and 4 two-bedroom residences (the sizes range from 2,800-9,250 square feet).  The materiality of the design focuses on marble and timber, infinity pools, long wooden sun decks, outdoor rain showers and oversized bathtubs which can seat two people quite comfortably.  There is a “Jungle Spa”, an underwater aquarium restaurant, and a wine cellar that is apparently out of this world (ranked as one of the very best of all the high end resorts around the globe).  If you find  yourself in the Maldives off the west coast of India and you have some extra cash you can stay at the Anantara Kihavah Villas for as little as $1,170 per night for a beach pool villa, or as much as $6,625 for a two-bedroom pool-side residence.  Le sigh.  To see more great pictures visit Home DSGN.
