PSFK has a great story on the Strahov Monastery Library in Prague which assembled a panoramic view of the interior by combining 2,947 high-res photos together which formed a 40 gigapixel display. It now officially holds the record for “the world’s largest indoor photo” as of March 2011. The panorama allows you to move virtually through the space and zoom into every little detail you could ever want to see. I just tried it myself and couldn’t believe what I was seeing: you can actually read the tiny letters on the spines of the books! Craziness.
