I’m really enjoying the sounds of Purity Ring these days.  The group is actually a new project from a member of New York electro-poppers Gobble Gobble and their brand new single “Ungirthed” is getting a great deal of attention.  Fast.  When the track itself glides into view, with all its pinging beats and ghostly vocal samples, you immediately assume the next couple of minutes will consist of repeated pitched-down samples (a sound currently favoured by “blog bands”).  So it’s thrilling when Megan James’s catchy vocal arrives after 30 seconds and “Ungirthed” instantly takes shape. It even has a dash of Auto-Tune at one point – a sly nod to the pop mainstream from a track that’s catchy enough to nestle there itself.

A little while back I posted the official video for “Ungirthed” and to my delight I just opened an email from a new FEELguide fan, Kaycee, who sent me her own video she made for “Ungirthed” and it’s great.  You can watch it below or visit Kaycee’s site by clicking HERE.
