Jesus had a deeply transcendent message that heaven is NOT a patch of real estate in the skies above. What he was trying to communicate (and what every single church on earth has screwed up) is that heaven is enlightenment, and by loving yourself and others as much as possible you can reach that place of inner peace just like he did.
