Alison Krauss is a national treasure as far as I’m concerned.  I’ve always had a soft spot for traditional bluegrass music, and Alison has become a bridge between the old and the new.  She is somewhat of a living legend in the country music world, and even the icons of The Grand Ole Opry call upon Alison when they need to take their songs to the highest level possible.  I’ve never quite been able to figure out exactly how music is capable of stirring up such intense emotions in people, but maybe it’s not necessary for us to know.  Few people are capable of reducing a grown man to a puddle of tears with the power of song, but growing up in a place where country music permeates almost every part of life, I’ve seen this next gem of Alison’s pull it off on more than one occasion.  Love her.
