My friend Henry (check out his phenomenal illustration work here) just sent me these incredible photos of a Russian military location deep in the mountains where an array of very sexy telescopes keep an eye on all of Russia’s space vessels, making sure they don’t bump into anything.  I think telescopes are just about the coolest thing on the face of the earth (I someday hope to convert an abandoned one into my country home) and these ones are definitely near the top of the list.  Think Pac Man-meets-Buckminster Fuller.  And the best part: they are sometimes open to visitors.
