Just when you think it can’t get any worse in the Gulf another piece of information comes in that breaks your heart.  This time it’s the phytoplankton in the are which are generating massive amounts of “snot” (a residual effect of the phytoplankton being under stress).  This will almost certainly create a dead zone in the BP spill zone.  Sea mucus of this type can attach to form stretches of slime upwards of 100 miles long.
