NASA’s New Horizon spacecraft has captured some amazing footage of a volcano erupting on Jupiter’s 3rd-largest moon named Io.  The volcano shown erupting on the moon Io is known as the Tvashtar volcano.  NASA writes: “Locked in a perpetual tug of war between the imposing gravity of Jupiter and the smaller, consistent pulls of its neighboring moons, Io’s distorted orbit causes it to flex as it swoops around the gas giant.  The stretching causes friction and intense heat in Io’s interior, sparking massive eruptions across its surface.  Images snapped by the spacecraft’s high-resolution telescopic camera show a 200-mile-high plume spewing from Tvashtar volcano in Io’s northern hemisphere.”  If you think that’s awesome, wait until you see the massive hexagon-shaped storm that ‘s taking place on the north pole of Saturn this very second.  The storm measures 4-earths-wide in diameter, and you can learn everything about it by CLICKING HERE.
