One of my top 5 favorite films of 2013 was director Denis Villeneuve’s dark and terrifying psychological thriller Prisoners. I can still remember leaving the theater with my friend Martin after seeing the film, and needing at least a half hour to shake off the lingering effects of what I had just witnessed. If you have not yet seen Prisoners you are in store for one of the most astonishing cinematic experiences of your entire life. I haven’t felt like that after seeing a film since I saw Jonathan Demme’s Silence Of The Lambs. Absolutely out of this world.
