I just caught the tail end of Jean-Yves Thibaudet’s performance of Liszt’s Consolation No.3 on the radio and the last 5 seconds pulled me in so fast I had to hear the entire thing.  When I went online I discovered this video of Russian classical virtuoso pianist Vladimir Horowitz (1903-1989) performing it with such perfection I had to share it.  Also worth reading are the 1000+ comments embedded in the original YouTube video (I really love reading the passionate exchanges that get the classical fans all riled up when the critiques get red hot).  For more incredible recorded performances from Horowitz CLICK HERE.
