Over at The Big Picture, the brilliant Alan Taylor has compiled his favorite photographs of 2010 and this one in particular stood out for me.  It was taken by Lionel Cironneau of the Associated Press and it features a plane flying over the Mediterranean near the city of Nice in the southeastern part of France as a storm and the dusk light combined to create an intense rainbow.  Cironneau noted, “I didn’t use any special effects, or try anything especially technical.  The picture was just there for everybody to see.”
