The Bloodiest Glacier On Earth

Environmental Graffiti has a crazy article about a glacier in Antarctica where microbes which have been trapped for millions of years under the ice.  A fissure has cracked it wide open and it is now gushing the ooze (which is red in color because of its high salinity and high iron content).  Read it here:
